Queen Áine – Queen of the Fae – Handmade 108 Bead Mala
Áine, the ancient sovereignty Goddess of the province of Munster in Southwest Ireland. Cnoc Aine, in Knockainey, Co. Limerick is sacred to Her. This hill was once the most powerful, royal ceremonial centre of Munster. In ancient times, the ritual marriage between King and Goddess was performed here, thus legitimizing his kingship. She also has a seat here at Knockmany Co Tyrone, with a cairn and a well in her name. Áine, is depicted with long red hair held by a headband of fallen stars, wearing yellow attire, fitting for a Goddess associated with the sun and the moon. Her element is air. Her sacred animals are the red mare, rabbit and swan. Thus, I have modelled the design of this Queen Áine Mala, to incorporate Yellow with Red and White, to invoke her energy.
For this Mala I have used beautiful deep read glass beads, signifying energy, strength, and courage, associated with the root chakra: grounding, survival instincts, and physical vitality. Beautiful Citrine beads for their very high vibe and powerful properties such as abundance, positivity, and manifestation - attracting wealth and success. This is a sunny energy, promoting joy, optimism, and dispelling negativity. Citrine aligns with the Solar Plexus Chakra for personal power and confidence. It's seen as a stone to boost willpower, clarify thoughts, and help manifest goals into reality. Really important crystal for women. While the lovely white cats eye beads symbolize mental clarity, protection from negativity, and emotional stability. They are believed to enhance intuition, boost creativity, and bring good luck, while helping to relieve stress and promote a sense of serenity. White is a lovely clear high vibration energy of purity with the ability to foster a profound peace of mind.
To add interest and, pull the design together, I have used brass, said to bring out the inner truth, stimulate the immune system and fosters courage. This metal is also sensitive to energies and over time will copy your energy signature! The necklace is interspersed with little golden glass beads, deep red and deep yellow Swarovski beads which add even more energy to the piece. I have finished the necklace with a lovely pure white tassel and as a nod to the Ancestors, a beautiful brass triskelion, the triple spiral, said to be the oldest symbol of spirituality!
This handmade 108 bead Affirmation Mala is not only a very desirable thing of great beauty, but also spiritual tool. Hold the necklace during prayer, meditation or in contemplation to connect with these deep, hidden aspects of the self.
