Chakra is a Sanskrit word that was first described in ancient Indian texts thousands of years ago and means “wheel” or “vortex”. Our Chakra system is made up from seven major chakras or energy centres. They are the focal points for our life energy that provide a gateway to access our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energies. Each Chakra is associated with a particular colour as represented here in this Mala: Red, orange yellow, green, blue, purple, and violet/ultraviolet. In the making of this 108 bead mala I have unified the colours with the relevant crystals of: Hematite, for grounding, Carnelian, which enhances positivity, Yellow Jasper said to build inner strength and confidence, Green Aventurine, a supportive stone, said to calm and reduce anxiety and fears, Moss Agate which helps balance emotions, Malachite, which is the essence of joy and is known as the "stone of transformation, Blue Chalcedony, one of my personal favourite crystals, is a nurturing stone that absorbs negativity and promotes emotional harmony, and stimulates feelings of benevolence and generosity, wonderful. I have used Dyed Jade of Aqua and Lilac. These semi-precious beads have been dyed to enhance the colour of the Jade. A traditional Chinese gemstone, Jade symbolises the 5 virtues of humanity: compassion, wisdom, modesty, justice, and courage. Finishing with the beautiful, milky, sky-blue crystal of Opalite, said to assist during life changes, minor or major, but will be most beneficial when you are experiencing great change, helping you make transitions smoothly. A lovely Red tassel completes the piece. Fabulous! The chakra system symbolises the wholeness of mind, body and spirit and is the network through which they interact. If all your chakras are well balanced and energized, you are in good health and spirit. Holding crystals or placing them on your body is thought to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Crystals supposedly do this by positively interacting with your body's energy field, or chakras, channelizing your energy levels, thereby focusing on healing your body from the inside.
