I have taken inspiration for this piece from the stories surrounding Eriu, a powerful goddess in Irish mythology and the namesake of Ireland.  Ériu is the goddess of sovereignty, abundance, and fertility, and is often seen as a personification of Ireland. Her name comes from Old Irish and means "fullness," "bounty," or "abundance". Ériu was the daughter of Delbáeth and Ernmas of the Tuatha Dé Danann, a supernatural tribe of magical people who inhabited Ireland in ancient times! Éire is the Irish Gaelic name for Ireland(air-uh) which derived from Ériu and was the official name of the Republic of Ireland from 1937 to 1949.  
This 108 bead Affirmation Mala is made using Wooden Beads, Green Agate crystal beads, Malachite Crystal beads, highlighted with beautiful tiny emerald green glass beads, contrasted with little spacer beads bringing in the colour and energy of gold, and finished with a lovely Guru bead, silver lined translucent green and turquoise for its sheer beauty, sitting above a lovely brass disk symbolic of Ireland. The totality of the pieces is, even if I say so myself, stunning!  Wood, a natural symbol, considered the most valuable material all around the planet and is said to allow a spiritual connection between humans and the Divine, bringing the energy of creativity and liberty!  Green Agate crystal beads, a rich translucent green colour, excellent for balancing emotional, physical and intellectual energy along with purification and regenerative qualities.  Malachite, a powerful crystal of transformation. The emerald green invokes the energy of Éire, the nature spirits and elementals of the Forest, in which the Fairies live!  While the gold, "The Metal of the Sun", a symbol of life and vitality because of its warm colour and association with sunlight, together add a vibrancy to this necklace.  While the beautiful colours held within Guru bead; vibrant shades of Teal, Turquoise, and Iridescent blue green peacock, symbolize wisdom, tranquillity, protection, good fortune, and loyalty. This Mala is finished with a Brass Medallion signifying Ireland.  Brass brings out the inner truth. It stimulates the immune system and gives you courage. This metal is also sensitive to energies and over time will copy your energy signature. All the colours and crystals and other elements I have used, Crystal, Wood, Glass and Brass, are symbolic in nature and, when used as intended, strengthen our connection to Mother Earth.  This bespoke piece measures 17” (43cms)  Total length 34” (86cms ) the Disk is 4cmsx5cms total pendant length 7cms.  It weights 56 grms.
